Crescent Place Student Accommodation
Overview
Global Student Accommodation commissioned our Fit-Out division to convert a vacant retail unit at Crescent Place in Southampton into a new reception, social space, study lounge, gymnasium and new curtain walling.
There was a tight deadline that had to be met so that students could use the areas at the beginning of the new term.
Our approach
The first phase of the contract was challenging requiring fast-track delivery. The works also needed to be completed within a live environment, with students occupying the rest of the building.
To overcome these challenges RFM employed our team of experts to create a connected plan that identified and mitigated risks, allowing residents access to the building safely. The outstanding social and study place for the new students included:
- Minor demolition works
- External drainage
- New floor finishes
- New ceiling finishes
- Mechanical & Electrical works
- Sparkle Clean
- External works to walls, windows and doors
- Internal doors and partitions
- New wall finishes
- Sanitary installation
- Decoration throughout

Outcome
All parts to the refurbishment at Crescent Place were soundly completed, on time and to a high-quality standard. These brand-new facilities gave the students at Crescent Place a fantastic environment to socialise in and state-of-the-art facilities for their education and personal life. Global Student Accommodation (GSA) were delighted with the outcome.
