Refurbishment for HR Department at University of Huddersfield

Following our recent project delivery at University of Huddersfield we are pleased to announce our latest project win for the Construction division.

Works commenced on Level 6 of the Schwann Building on Monday 11th February 2019 for the 15 week project. Home to the university’s HR department, the project is designed to improve the current facilities and work space.

Following a competitive tender process at the start of the year, our Pre-Construction team have handed the project over to our delivery team with Contracts Manager Tony Bowes leading the works on site and supported at head office by our new Commercial Manager Andy Elsworth.

The scope of the project is to reconfigure the existing layout including; a new reception area, meeting rooms, open plan office space and new toilet facilities. We will also oversee the safe removal of asbestos, as well as full decoration throughout, mechanical and electrical installations and furniture through our FF&E partner Gresham.

The Schwann Building project follows the successful delivery of the refurbishment of the university’s Charles Sikes Building during 2018 and the continued relationship with the client.

Leigh Edmondson, Managing Director is delighted with the project win;

“We have a long-standing relationship with the university, and it’s fantastic to be back on site in order to deliver, what will be a first-class refurbishment. We’ve chosen to partner with our trusted supply chain on some key aspects of the project. CJ Connally will deliver the Mechanical and Electrical Installations, BLS Asbestos for all asbestos removal works and Paul Smith Plasterers for the internal partitions and finishes.”

The project adds to our already strong portfolio of works for 2019 as we continue to grow our Construction offer within the established RFM Group brand. Our unique business model means we look after all stages of our client’s property needs, from Consultation and Refurbishment projects right through to Facilities Management and Repair programmes.
