Orsted develops, constructs, and operates offshore and onshore wind farms, solar farms, energy storage facilities, renewable hydrogen and green fuels facilities, and bioenergy plants. Orsted ranks as the world’s most sustainable energy company in Corporate Knights’ 2022 index of the Global 100 most sustainable corporations in the world and is recognised on the CDP Climate Change A List as a global leader on climate action.
Centric were selected to furnish the recently refurbished Walney Building using a combination of existing furniture which Centric re-covered and refurbished as well as supply new furniture. The Walney Building is one of several Orsted buildings in Barrow-in-Furness that support the offshore Windfarms which form their West Coast Hub.
Our approach
We created a full inventory of the existing furniture to establish what could be re-used and what would be sent for recycling. We put together a plan of action to have the chairs refurbished and re-covered, Height adjustable desks converted from 1800mm large desks to 1600m and 1400mm hot desks, and re-using existing conference tables where suitable.
