Solomons Europe
Overview
Solomons Europe is a dynamic, dedicated team of quantity surveyors, procurement and commercial professionals, supporting major power, infrastructure, engineering and utilities projects and frameworks on behalf of clients and contractors across the Northern Powerhouse.
They approached RFM to provide innovative and solutions-focused workspace as well as a co-working space for local businesses.
They wanted to incorporate solutions for co-working and collaboration, using Industrial design with a modern twist.
Environmental sustainability and recycling were at the core of the client’s brief.
Our approach
We assembled a team comprising furniture and interior experts. This team then scoped our supply chain for inspiration with a particular eye for both the industrial look and products which had an environmental impact and story.
Working closely with Solomons Europe, we provided samples to identify the best-suited products. Then, in conjunction with their team and the interior designer to provide a real visual impact that would entice clients to the offices along with supporting their own workforce

Outcome
Using shipping containers in a bright orange this workspace has taken a completely new look from what was an old farmer’s warehouse. The industrial look with bespoke desks and meeting tables to the industrial lighting along with the breakout space really has created the wow factor.
Working with industry leaders in Humanscale we provided products which were made from recycled ocean plastic and Nomique using fabric made from recycled bottles giving the client a powerful story to tell and keeping in line with their environmental policies.
Since this office refurbishment, we have gone on to refurbish two further offices for Solomons Europe, both in a traditional office space but still maintaining their core values in terms of design and innovation.
